Situated within Deerfield Township, the community of Rosenhayn is part of the Vineland-Millville-Bridgeton Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area with a small population of about 1,098 residents as of the 2010 US Census. The city was established by a Jewish agricultural colony and built one of the only surviving synagogues in 1898.

Demographics

Census 2000

Statistics states that there were about 1,099 individuals, 373 households with 286 families that lived within Rosenhayn in 2000. The racial diversity of the small community was:

• 70.43% White
• 19.29% African American or Black
• 0.64% Native American
• 0.18% Asian
• 9.92% Hispanic or Latino
• 6.28% other races

Within the 328 households, only about 35% housed children under the age of 18, about 52% were married couples with no children, about 17% had a woman head of household, and the remaining 23% were individuals living in a household that was not related to one another.

The average household income was about $38,702, and surprisingly the average income for a family was less at about $38,155.

Census 2010

Statistics share that the population in 2010 was initially the same, with about 1,098 residents, 382 households, and 274 families residing in Rosenhayn, showing no population growth within a 10-year time difference. The racial diversity of the community was:

• 64.21% White
• 18.03% Black or African American
• 1.28% Native American
• 1.46% Asian
• 17.58% Hispanic or Latino
• 9.29% other races
• 5.74% from two or more races

Of the 382 households within the community, about 35% had children living with them under the age of 18, about 51% were married couples with no children, 16% had a woman head of household with no man present, and the remaining 28% were household that was not related.
