Veterans Memorial Park is one of our favorite parks in town. This beautiful 17-acre park is on Route 46 East at Vail Road. The Armed Services Memorial
The beautiful veterans memorial honors the veterans from all branches of the US Armed Forces. The beautiful monument is adorned with a bald eagle with its wings spread, along with two plaques and gold stars honoring those who have fought for their country. The park hosts special events here to honor veterans on Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and other holidays. Service members both past and present march with flags during these events to pay tribute to all those who have served in the United States military.
Bandstand and Lawn Area
During the summer, Veterans Memorial Park hosts several outdoor concerts at the bandstand. Visitors can enjoy the live music from the surrounding lawn area. Visiting for these concerts always makes for a beautiful night out in the picturesque setting of New Jersey nature. Some of the past performances here have included:
- Street Hassle - Held in August of 2017, this concert featured talented local musicians performing music from a variety of genres, including classic rock, blues, Motown, and pop. The band took concert-goers on a journey through decades of American music, beginning with classic rock from the 1960s and traversing through disco of the 1970s, all the way up to contemporary pop music.
- EagleMania - In July of 2017, classic rock fans filled Veterans Memorial Park to watch the Eagles cover band EagleMania. This faithful tribute band sounds almost like the real thing.
- Radio Nashville - Radio Nashville was a huge country concert featuring music from the most popular artists in contemporary country music, such as Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Black Shelton, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Landy Antebellum, and much more.
Walking Paths
Veterans Memorial Park has over one mile of walking paths. During the warmer months, you'll spot dozens of joggers, walkers, runners, people walking their dogs, roller-bladers, and more traversing the path. These paths are always a great choice when you're looking to burn some calories outdoors in Parsippany.
Multi-Purpose Field
At Veterans Memorial Park, there is a state-of-the-art lighted artificial turf field which is used by the Parsippany Soccer Club. If your kids enjoy soccer and sign up for a team in the area, they'll have the privilege of practicing and playing here.
Picnic Shelter
Veterans Memorial Park is always a great place to hold a picnic, and their shelter allows you to continue grilling even if the weather turns sour. It features electricity and a charcoal grill which you can reserve for you and your party.
